The new year welcomes a new leader to Mount Eagle Elementary School as Ms. Kate Kirkland will take over as principal at this Mount Vernon school, effective Sept. 3.
Ms. Kirkland is no stranger to this area. In the recent past, her career includes roles as a classroom teacher at Rose Hill Elementary School, a special education teacher at Island Creek Elementary School, a reading specialist at Lynbrook Elementary School, and both a classroom teacher and reading specialist at Hollin Meadows Elementary.
These diverse experiences have equipped her with a broad perspective on teaching and learning, as well as a strong foundation in supporting diverse student populations.
