Every week, Senior Services of Alexandria’s “SSA Connection” provides seniors with an informative TED Talk, exercise video, recipe, and activity to brighten their week. This March, for the first time ever, Senior Services of Alexandria’s monthly speaker series is bringing this weekly newsletter to life. Come hear our version of a “TED Talk” from Seve Gurney, the founder of the Positive Aging Community, who will give tips on how to live your best life as an older adult. Move your body with the help of Virginia Kalish, a senior yoga instructor and retired geriatrician, who will give a simple, in-person chair yoga movement and mindfulness exercise. The Landing Alexandria’s executive chef, Stephen Winterling, will take a break from preparing meals for the senior living facility to guide attendees on how to prepare an easy to make recipe.
Attendees will get to partake in a fun and easy art project with a chance to socialize and get creative. Finally, Diana Price with Beatley Library will make sure everyone is up to date on the latest announcements and events from Alexandria’s Libraries.
You don’t want to miss the chance to participate in this one-of-a-kind fun filled morning. Light refreshments will be provided. The event is free, but please register by emailing events@seniorservicesalex.org or calling 703.836.4414 ext. 110.
